Cook & Waiter awarded exclusive hospitality contract at Biennale of Sydney's White Bay Power Station

Sydney event caterer Cook & Waiter has been appointed as the exclusive hospitality provider at the Biennale of Sydney’s dramatic, heritage-listed White Bay Power Station, when the 25th edition of Australia’s largest contemporary art festival opens on 14 March, 2026.

The Biennale of Sydney is held once every two years across various Sydney locations and, for just the second time, at White Bay Power Station – elevating corporate events at the iconic industrial site into ephemeral and unique guest experiences.

From 14 March to 14 June, a fleeting three-month window opens for corporates, premium brands and private groups looking to make ‘event history’ in an unrivalled, historically rich and culturally dramatic space for 20-3,000 guests, elevated with creative food and drink by Cook & Waiter.

Imagine a spectacular brand launch, gala dinner or intimate cocktail reception within the industrial architecture and open interiors of the towering Turbine Hall, cavernous Boiler House or soaring Mezzanine – immersed in provocative installations from artists worldwide while enjoying hospitality that matches the Biennale’s innovation, ambition and scale.

Cook & Waiter's Hospitality Packages

Cook & Waiter’s signature event experiences are fully customisable and fall into five key packages:

Biennale Breakfast: Think sunrise strategy sessions and non-traditional boardroom breakfasts, with house-made pastries, seasonal fruits and barista coffee to fuel big ideas.

Biennale Dinner: From intimate client dinners to vast gala celebrations featuring canapés, curated menus and premium wines.

Biennale Social: Cocktail receptions and social soirées mingling amongst the art, with stand-up canapés and sweet treats paired with curated wines and cocktails.

Wine & Tour: Guided art tours and generous grazing tables, complemented by sommelier-led wine tastings.

High Tea: A uniquely Australian high tea experience blending refined classics, native flavours and seasonal produce – ideal for elegant networking or client hospitality.

Hospitality That Echoes The Heritage & Artistic Grandeur

Cook & Waiter Owner and Creative Director David O’Brien said the team is excited to be the exclusive hospitality partner across the full three-month tenure of the 25th Biennale of Sydney.

“We’re inspired by the Biennale’s spirit of innovation and cultural creativity to curate menus that echo this spectacular experience and create a true feast for the senses,” Mr O’Brien said.

“An event at White Bay Power Station during the 25th Biennale of Sydney puts your brand or business at the centre of one of Sydney’s most talked-about cultural moments – and we’ll be powering those events with menus that feel as unique and contemporary as the art around them.”

As the exclusive hospitality partner, Cook & Waiter handles every detail of event catering at White Bay Power Station during the 25th Biennale of Sydney.
